double check for me before I start it up...
Thursday, April 13, 2006 12:01 PM
Ok I think I have everything right as far as the lines go. I made a little diagram to show what everything is and to show the one questions I still have. Check out the pics and let me know. The green arrow leading to the nipple on the back is what I am not sure about.

That nipple is what I think I have to just plug is that right?

haha I had it the whole time but on my car its white from the firewall and then about a foot later it's connected to a black one thats what messed me up.

I just wanna say thanx alot to all of you that have helped me through my first engine mod.

Now hopefully it starts and works fine I'll let ya know my new intake is on its way.

Oh one other thing if I start it up without the intake will it mess up like I just want to test it. Or do I have to wait for the intake?

Where does the breather filter hose hook up to? I'm doing the swap and I'm not sure where that goes. Thanks.

right under the second runner in the manifold there are two holes. The one on the left is for the hose that comes off the side of the fuel rail. The second you hook up a huse and then attatch that breather filter. If you have anymore questions feel free to email me as I can now help.

HPTuners = remove trouble codes no more EGR sims..... no more O2 sims......

Oh yea, you have it right....... I usually have the MAP sensor hooked to the back port, and the front one plugged.... but its all up to you.

I hooked up my MAP sensor to the second hole on the mainfold. Is that suppost to go somewhere else? The only other hole I have open is the one in that second pic above on the back of the manifold. That is where I thought you had to hook up the breather filter. Let me know if I hooked this up wrong because I will mbe working on it today.

so where can u find an egr simulator? and the hptuners u mentioned, that would mean clearing code every time u start it up

Good job glad to see it's almost done.

One suggestion.. tuck that breather filter under the runners.. Although it's highly unlikely you'll ever be asked to pop your hood.. your car's slightly more modified than most (especially in T-Bay as you said) so you might get harassed a bit more, and the PCV is supposed to be a closed loop system.. so having that breather filter in plain view isn't a good thing. $300-365 ticket in Ontario if it's noticed

I've been pulled over tons of times and never had them asm me to pop the hood.

How much is the tuners software, and how much is this erg simulator? never heard of it. How does it work?

As for the MAP sensor its fine where you have it just plug the hole on the back of the manifold.

I started the car today and it ran perfect. So I know what I did and that its all right now.

As for the codes I really could care less just curious about the simulator

hp tuners is 650.00 for the top set up , and the 1 ill be getting

the egr sim some people have had issues with , jake being the 1 i know of

id recomend the hp tuners over the sim , because you can tune the car with it , and get the most out of all the mods your doing

haha well how hard is it to tune I mean I don't really have any engine mods but it is something I would look to in the future.. Is it more for a turbo setup or is it good for N/A as well?

When I started the car up it ran perfect it makes more of a whistle noise under the hood but I think thats normal if not let me know.

I know all the vaccum lines are fine cause it didn't rev right high.

The problem it has and that it had before is that when I rev it a bit and it comes back down to idle sometimes its a little rough and sometimes it will dip low in the RPM range. I dunno if its my o2 sensor cause I remember reading that that would throw a code.

Any other guesses?

uhh...where does the other end of the brake booster hose go? It seems to be running towards the other side of the manifold, when it should be running towards the firewall. What'd you do with the metal hose/pipe that was connected to the brake booster port on your old Throttle body?
