I was just wondering, I am not that educated on engine tuning and was wondering if there is a specific school for engine/ suspension tuning? I am a Mobile Dynamics grad. so i've got the audio/video covered but I would like to expand my horizons in this industry. can anyone help me out? I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. so the closer - the better.

thanks guys.

UTI, Wyotech and a few others, See here. Thing is, to properly tune an engine, you must understand the mechanics of an engine. This would go back as far as points ignitions, caburators and generators (even as far back as the old 6 volt positive ground systems!). You would have to understand these systemsn ot so much as fix them. Then again, if you understand them you can fix them.

Regular automotive classes and schools are very good at providing a good foundation for understanding engines. But some of the advanced subjects required for proper efi tuning just don't have a place in an automotive repair corriculum. After all, how many garages actually get into changing the computer's basic operating paramaters?

Tuning and the tuner market are big money fields. Even the corporate big boys admit that the best tuning involves some art. So it makes sense that a pro tuning school won't be cheap.
