From my understanding a lot of the underbody from 96-05 is the same.

Exhaust and suspension.

sweet! thats what I thought... just makin sure. Because the only reason I want the catback is for the bends in the pipe because no one around here (johnstown pa) has a mandrel bender. And I found some cheaper catbacks for like 96-01 or some spit like that on ebay.

The only problem is the piping is 2.5'' and my current setup has everything 2.25" (cat, piping, resonator, muffler...) wonder how much of a diffference that will make.

I guess I'll keep lookin around.

95-05 will not fit. Thats the reason why the rk system comes with different lenght pipes. I had bought a system that said it fit 95-03's and it wouldn't fit my 05.

Ryan....buy some mandrel bends from Summit...i just got 2 U bends 2.5" for like 40 bucks and then take it up to Advantage Auto and have them custom it up for ya. Itll save you some money plus youll have a free flowing exhaust. Let me know and ill give you a hand. I still need to take you for a ride man. I finally got the boost up to 7 psi.

Yeah the Megan Racing catback is supposedly bolt-on for 95-02 (at least through 02...I might have heard later than that but we'll say for the sake of this only through 02). However the hangar on the muffler when the exhaust arrived pointed straight out (in the same direction as the tailpipe points). Looking under my wife's 02 Sunfire, the exhaust hangar on the stock exhaust points kinda towards the driver's side rear wheel. Other than that everything looked identical - we're having a shop cut the hangar off and weld it on pointing the right direction rather than trying to rig it up ourselves - we'd spend almost as much on some kind of clamp on hangar as we would at the shop, plus we can let them fight the rust under the car

If it is the Megan Racing catback that you're looking at on eBay by chance, it is NOT 2.5". Some said it was except for where it connected to the cat. At one point I'd taken pictures of measurements (and posted them) at like 3 places along the exhaust (the flange for the cat, by the muffler, and somewhere in between) and all 3 showed an outer diameter that appeared to be something like 2 3/8". That was with a tape measure laying on the floor under it so I'm assuming the diameter is truly 2.25". If the Megan Racing catback is the one you're looking at, and the diameter is your only hangup with it, I'd say get it. The quality of it is great - great welds, thick flanges, very solid looking. I don't think you'll have a shop make you one much cheaper than what you'd buy it for on eBay; of course you can choose your own muffler/resonator with a custom exhaust but in the end the sound probably won't be that much different (and the gains will all be within a few tenths of one HP of each other). It's being installed tomorrow and we may get some sound clips once it's on - I think I'd heard one clip of it before, but it was either on a 2.4 or an Eco, my wife's car is a 2200.

I think I goofed there - the hangar may actually point back towards the front of the car - either way it's not pointing the right way for her car.

Is there a way to edit a post on here??? lol
