I was watching Two Guys garage just a few minutes ago (still on actually). They were at Banks Performance getting a tour of there shops. They showed a couple Ecotec motors sitting there. Banks stated they were working with GM to make performance kits for there ecotec line. Some would be super chargers and some would be Trubo charged. One of the motors was a 2.0 supercharged motor, one looked to be a 2.2 Ecotec. I thought that was interesting. I heard on Cobalt Ss.net that Banks has been working on Turbo kits for the Ecotec and maybe a diesel option as well.

RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
Now that would be something to look forward to. I could only imagine what Banks could do with an Eco power wise.
Yea, Banks has been working in conjuntion with a Cali speed shop for about 2yrs now on this type of stuff. Also, yes, turn-key has been making rock crawler Eco's for awhile now also. I actually got to view one in a crawler while up in the NW when I drove down to Oregon. It's a VERY well built engine. The owner says he dogs the motor twice as hard at home than in competition.
So yea.....haha! Isn't banks the team who helped get that Eco Sunfire to run 2xx.xx mph at the bonnevile flats?

GM is releasing a line of turbo charged 2.0 ecotecs in 2007, not sure on the price of the engine crate, but they will be in some of the new pontiacs

I could be wrong about this, but they or Gale Banks himself did nt mention Cali speed shop. he mention Banks is working with GM directly on performance option for the Ecotec motor, as well other GM motors to. It was also posted a few weeks back on cobalt SS.net that Banks was designing a turbo kit for the cobalts, as well a diesel conversion with turbo.

Turbo Diesel would be interesting! I DL'ed a video off of a speed or spike TV show showing them actually talking about the success and build ideas with the Eco motor (Banks and Cali Speed Shop). I understand that the particular episode was an updated newly shot show so what I'm talking about doesn't really go with what you're saying. I was just stating that they've been working together for awhile to produce some pretty bad concept Eco's over the last 3-4yrs.
