Need Opinions: should i get ebayTB or TB+manifold?
Monday, June 12, 2006 11:06 AM
im looking at upgrading my 98 z24 throttle body with somthing a little bigger because i hear there are good power gains.

i found a 57 mm throttle body on ebay:here

price is 234$ shipped.

my question is....should i get that, or this: here

it is a little more then a hundred bucks more then the ebay one, but comes with the ported intake manifold and a 60mm TB. is the extra 3mm and the fact the intake manifold is ported and smoothed worth the extra money?

does having a ported intake manifold increase power for the LD9 engines?

thanks to all the help me !

Egad, that sleeving looks horrible!! If you're going with the J-body performance one... go for the 62mm option... maybe it won't look so horrid

i know i noticed that too....i was going to email them and see if its going to come like that or if its just that pic.

also: i think the 62mm is too big....im looking for just building a N/A motor. i heard i can actually LOSE power with an oversized TB.

Well, you won't necessarily lose power overall, but with a bigger opening, you'll help shift the powerband higher in the RPM range.

If you just want a throttle body, darkfox over at quad4forums.com did my stock LD9 up to 58mm for $100

Allow About a week or so for turnaround.
