Planning on fabricating my own intake using exhaust piping, but i dont want to buy a bunch of piping i dont need. Any help on how much of each bend i'll need?

Aluminum not steel piping is what you would need.

i would have the shop bend one single piece of metal it will look better, as stated above i would use alum too.

dont think so they can do it in an hour or less usually, they bend as they go

You can use exhaust pipe if you want, too. Aluminum will hold it's shine a little better if you're worried about that, and maybe save you a pound or so of weight - but will possibly cost more as well. Aluminum and steel pipe will have pretty much the same characteristics as far as heat soak and if you're worried about the sound, there's little difference between the two.

i was reccommending alum so there wont be any rust , but you can get coated steel as well its cheaper. You will eventually get rust inside the pain steel though from humidity and driving through flooded streets or at least i have.

You know, I hadn't given that much thought. Then again part of my intake is aluminized steel and I haven't noticed any corrosion as of yet - and it's been there a while.

I got 2.5" bent exhaust piping from a local muffler shop (the hood wouldn't close so I did the rest myself). just use high heat engine paint and the clear coat if you want it to not rust from the outside, and just spray wd40 in there sometimes. It may last longer than your engine.(depends how its built) you can even it in Stainless. I dont know about aluminum... some of the pipes look too thin from ebay and it may be hard for them to clamp down.
