I'm betting that stuffing a V8 in there is doable. You might have to remove the inner fenders but it's an easier swap than going RWD and the car would look fairly stock methinks.
Anyone have any idea if this is feasable?
highly unlikely, if you want the motor, get a car that has one already in it IMO.
a 5.4L is too big, but a V8 is doable. it takes a lot of work to make happen still.
A 350 is a 5.7L, though... unless the 5.4 is wider than an SBC
you can always try to put a ls1 in a jbody because is already done with a grand prix gtp
an ls4 is a gm small block, it has roughly the same outter dimensions as an ls1, ls2, ls6, or ls7.
its definately feasible, but its gonna end up costing a lot of money for all the custom fabrication. an ls4 d.o.d. from a grand prix gxp or a monte carlo ss would be your best bet since theyre fwd.
youre probably be better off just buying a car with an ls v8 in it anyways, or building an L61 ecotec.
I agree. I was just curious as if it COULD be done. Obviously you would wanna keep it FWD and it would have to stay automatic, but still... what a trippy ride it would be! Put some quiet mufflers on it and surprise a lot of people!
The track for an Impala/Monte-Carlo is roughly the same as a Cobalt so if you're creative with a blowtorch it can be done. I just like to think of how to do stuff that no one else does. Technically speaking, a Buick 3.8 V6 with an SC is a lot easier to put into a J-body, I think a 5 speed manual is even adaptable, but nothing beats a V8.
Personally I would never spend tons of money on a FWD car when there's a ton of RWD's still out there waiting for a big block V8 to be dumped in em, but it's the challenge I enjoy.
That guy must love the raked look lol. I bet the whole car would flip over if he reved the engine fast enough...
That my peeps is a standing wheelie car that goes down the quater mile strip...
I'm thinking of something funny to say. I'll let the

do that for me...

too much front end weight, i bet it doesnt hook worth @!#$ as it looks alittle hack..
RWD swap is do-able, i've been contemplating this on a 3rd gen for awhile now, however last fall i priced out everything that would be needed to do it properly, safely, and legally (i mean everything from poprivits and screws to engine/wiring/tires/guages, etc etc etc and parts alone turned up to be around 18,000+ (that was with a stock used 305 engine and a used trans) depending on the quality of parts used and what the engine will cost...
so definalty not something that your going to do in a weekend/month unless your a millionair.
