Well,
I have a 2k1 LD9 s/c and thinking about getting a lightweight flywheel for when i throw my spec stage 2 clutch in with the LSD. Spec has an aluminum one, but it doesnt say how much it weighs. Is anybody using this setup? Also, who else offters a lightweight flywheel. But the big question is it, is ok for daily driving? or is it way to touchy ?
Any input/opinios are welcome.
Thanks!
Nate

just wondering where good place to get a spec stage 3 clutch and pressure plate for a z24 izusu tranny
i have a stage 2 now but iam rebuilding and might as well upgrade
Thanks,
Paul
sorry not trying to jack your tread
so for you guys, did you try the same clutch with the lightened fly wheel, and then the exact same clutch with a stock wieght flywheel??
cause I am running a stock flywheel, with spec stage 3 POS, and it works well for me, holds the power I put to it for now.

i love the spec flywheel ( i have a ACT clutch) with the s/c. I am s/c less but it still is a nice modifaction. I do notice my idle doesnt dip past 1000 rpms as much as it used to with the s/c when i push in the clutch. that could have been caused by something else.
anyways.
word of caution. 3-4 years ago i was looking for a flywheel. (I shop around). anyways, E bay had some for cheap. I was going to purchase one/ posting about it and bill@isuzuperformance e mailed me outta the blue and said dont buy the ones off e bay , or factory defects. Reason being he got the company at the time( fidenza) to start making them, and they shipped him the first 50 to sell. Well something wasnt right on them causing part of the flywheel to hit the starter, or bell housing. so he sent all 50 back and seen some later on e bay. So he bought one and sure enough it was the first ones that were goof'd up.
just looking out for ya, best bet is to get one from karo, or turbotech. .
K.
Thanks guys.
But is the did anybody weigh their spec flywheel? or their fidenza one? Anybody get a better/faster time/trap with it at the track?
Thanks again guys.

So far, i've found LM performance and spec prices for the spec flywheel -389-399 and fidenza from Turbo something for 329. Other then the better price...is there any reason not to go Fidenza even with the spec clutch??
Thanks.

My Fidanza was 9lb when i weighed it and my stock was 24lbs i believe. Fidanza is a more widely used Flywheel. I did some research and a lot of other cars use Fidanza Flywheels if that says anything to you. I heard it was the same as SPEC Flyweel so which ever you can get cheaper.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the whats the difference between a good one and a bad one do you? When they were being sold on ebay... were they just machined down ? or would they still have hit the starter?
Thanks

I have to find the dyno sheet.
Stock 98 sunfire - 2.4 5spd. Just a fidanza flywheel. stock clutch. HP gain overall - was like 11hp.
less rotating mass always frees hp
My 86 conquest stock flywheel was like 41lbs.. the power increase i had with a 10lb fidanza was simply amazing ..

Anybody here, (besides Tim) buy one off ebay in the last year? And have no problems with it?

most people on here like me didn't want to buy one off ebay for that same issue. Didn't want to risk it.
