How Hard? Swapping a Eco into a 98 2.2 cavy

Well. My winter car decided to die sooner then i thought .

So here is what i have and what i want to do.

My winter car is a 98 cavy 2dr. 2.2

My buddy owns a junk yard and he has prolly 5-8 eco 2.2's in his yard. most complete in cars yet.

Instead of putting another stock 2.2 in my cavy i was wondering whats all invloved putting a 2.2 eco in my cavy.

Bolting up? wiring? etc. i looked for posts and couldnt find much..
Any help is much appeciated.

Get a complete donor car. You will need the interior harness, bcm, engine harness, pcm, engine, tranny, mounts, tranny mounts brackets(you will need to cut your old ones off and weld in the new ones), shifter cables, shifter assembly, etc etc. Talk to John Higgins, he has done a couple of these swaps already.

its very very difficult, more difficult than searching for the info thats been posted on here at least once a day and you obviously can't do that, so i doubt you can put the motor in

i love you too,

i don't care if i wasted time telling him what i said, the fact of the matter is that its asked every single day, the info is still there, since suncavi has done the swap and theflyingskwirl, anyone with half a brain can find it..

by the way, you didn't help him at all, atleast i told him to search...and now i even told him names to search for.

If i can put a Era 2. Viper motor in a 99 dodge dakota. im sure i can put a eco in a cavy lol.

I just wanted to know how difficult . just trying to see if its worth it. sense i can prolly get 1 of the complete donor cars for a measily couple hundred. with 10k or less miles.

^^Worth it yes, definately.. Like said, you'll need a complete donor car.. Swap everything over and your set.. The level of difficulty depends on you and what you know.. If you can turn and wrench and some screwdrivers then your good to go..
It would probably be nice to have a friend come over with an eco car for something to go off of.

If not, then take pictures of everyhing from the donor car before you go ripping stuff out just in case you need to go back to later to find out where stuff goes..

I went from a 97 2.2 to a 99 2.4 and I had a friend come over with his 2.4 just in case I needed to know where something went lol.. I only needed to see how his starter wires were ran

from what ive gathered, its a pain in the ass in a pre 2000 car, b/c u practically have to strip ur car to the bare body and the donor car to the bare body. then put all the donor cars stuff onto ur car. but its worth it, ive been pondering building my 2.2 or goin eco.

If it only costs a couple hundred, then go for it. You'll need all kinds of stuff off the newer car.
