Can a GM supercharger be modified to fit the 2.3 head? Could i use a 2.4 head on a 2.3 to use the supercharger? I was thinking of using one of those adapter flanges in the group purchase, would that work?

question is, why? The head ports on the 2.3 Head are far far bigger than the ports on the 2.4 and the Blower. There was a guy on Quad4 Forms that put a blower on his 2.3, two i think.
it was a 95 2.3 and i doubt the s/c would flow enough on the HO to make it useful. the HO flows WAY more air than the 2.4.

Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
search in boost forum i asked that question a couple of months back and yes u can modify it and some one on quad 4 makes a kit for it
Search for Major IIRC.
But like said above, the Ho flow almost more than the 2.4 charger.

2.3 Ho
on an HO? prolly more harm then good due to heat on a motor that hates heat. also remember boost if relative term. on a 95 2.3 from a J then yes it would add a decent amount like the 2.4.. maybe even more.

search for s/c 2.3? in boost forum hope it helps
thanks for the help but i still dont understand how a S/C can not be better than a HO with cams, could someone clarify?

yes I can clarify.. lets say a s/c can flow 235 cfm.. lets say an engine can flow 235 cfm.. well then putting that s/c on that engine is dumb. over-simplified maybe but the same rule stands. same case here except dif numbers and not the same but too close to make a good dif. plus add in heat from the s/c and you see where we're going. a well setup HO swap will net over 200HP NA. remember the m45 if good for the stock setup(m62 would be better imo). It has very little room to grow. We may see here how it does when ported, but I doubt it will net much more. don't get me wrong for a 200HP kick in the pants from a stock 2.4 with good reliability its a great option, but the HO is already up there so it won't net much if anything on that motor.

Think of a small m45 on an LGO. like those electric turbonator superchargers on a stock LD9 motor. If the motor can outflow the supercharger, the supercharger actually impedes the air flow of the motor. Ever wonder why v8's use such large superchargers or turbos and only get about 6-8 psi of boost?
In my opinion, an m90 would probably be the ideal choice for a H.O. quad.
I think Junior also had the GM S/C on a 2.3.......... could be wrong......

I'm putting the M90 on my 2.6L Quad (when it's done) and am one of the guys working on the intake for the 2.3L supercharger setup.
The guy who has it done for sure is combatphil on quad4forums. he's got 2 M90's on a quad4. he has a manifold already made for the sc for sale. he's your best best at the moment.

That's it. I wasn't sure. I meant Junior.

2.3 Ho
It is Junior from New Jersey. Here you go. This is a 95 2.3 that had a GM Supercharger. He had this for a couple years now.

^ boost in my mind is a turbo, i never saw a super charger as boost....make the name boost & S?C
anyways, how hard is it to find a 086 head? would it make a good set up on a LO motor?

if I remember correctly the proper names are..
Turbine-driven superchargers are correctly referred to as turbo-superchargers - or more commonly as turbochargers.
So...
Turbocharger = Turbo Supercharger
Supercharger = Supercharger
All a Turbocharger is, is the supercharger idea but instead of it being belt driven, it has a turbine that is gas driven.
so if you're going to give it any other name than the obvious, at least stick with the correct ones rather than making up your own.
Why would you wanna call them "Boost and Supercharger"
They both make boost. Where's the logic in calling them what you want to call them?
turbo and s/c cause a positive pressure , which = BOOST
stupid ass noooooooooooooooBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB'SSSSS
086 heads are not hard to find..there are some nice ones on ebay in the 200 range...would it work on an LO? sure it would..why not? your nust gonna have lower comp. pistons (which would be fine for boost setup) and im sure youll want nice cams to go with that head
well you CAN (but why) run the stockers on boost...but one solid detonation and your motor is shot. better to build it right the first time then build it right the second time for twice the money.
