2.4L Cam to 2.2L OHV

Hey this might be a stupid question but can a 2.4L cam be put into a 2.2L motor? Thanks and please don't bash me for the question just trying to help a buddy out

thanks man, just wondering tryiny to add some power to my friends 2.2L OHV and trying to fina a way to get a different cam no anyone that makes one for his car?

Try getting the cam reground from any of the cam manufacturers (Crane, Comp, Isky, etc...) or try Import Performance Parts. Make sure you get the year correct for any cams you get, there are various changes, according to what year motor you friend has.

ohv has ONE cam..underneath the motor, and uses pushrods to open the valves. 2.4L is a DOHC engine, has 2 cams, in the valvetrain. COMPLETELY different engine operation. no OHV cam can be swapped into a DOHC, and vice versa.

if they want a performance cam, madjack has some good advice there...^^^^^^^

Not to mention the difference in profiles...did you even look at the specs?
