I'm trying to decide on what pistons to get. I have an 04 gmpp s/c'd cavalier. I've been looking at wiseco, je and diamond. I'm wanting .020 overbore. I just wanted to get some feedback from people on here. Also, the weight of the piston is something that concerns me. I could find the weight on wiseco and diamond's site, but diamonds weren't overbored. For JE, since they have to be custom made, I couldn't find the weight, and when I called them, they didnt' have any info for me either. So, I was wondering if someone that had them would know? Anyone have any suggestions on what I should go for? Thanks!
personally i would go to gmgoodwrench.com and check with their piston setups cause the have badass rotating assemblies for ecotec. thats wat im planning to get since i just did the ecotec swap in my 98 cavy. but yea go check them out the give u all kinds of info

I guess I should have mentioned I'm probably looking for 10:1 compression ratio. But thanks for the offer. You can still order in other types right? Do you know the weight of the wiseco's, even though I found them on their website, someone told me they were different. Do you have an opinion on the other pistons?

no you dont want higher for nitrous nor do you really want higher for S/c or turbo. You lower the compression to keep the cylinders cool. if you have hot cylinders that new fuel/air mixture and/or nitrous/fuel.air mixture hits that REALLY hot wall and BOOM you have detonation. you can keep like a 19.5:1 -10:1 ratio just going to have to up the Octane to keep the engine from detonating.
JE is VERY well know for V8 engines. as if Crower rods for V8's ive herd Wiesco is just as good at JE just have to make sure you get the tightest seal Rings. Its just what ive herd.
Talk to Karo at carcustoms.net ... he'll hook you up with some wiesco's. I use them in the engines I build with good results. I'd stick to 10:1 for sure.
Also you could check out mahl ... I've heard good things about them.
stay 10:1 . Long as you keep your IATs and cylinder temps down it will run great.
Wiesco, hands down. And yes, nitrous loves high compression.
Thanks for all the info so far. Does anyone know anything on the weights of je or wiseco pistons? Any other opinion on which is better? for what reasons? Thanks
