welding on header?

just read somewhere that the pacesetter header got to be welded on to the ecotec motor?...any truth to this?

where was this so called reading?

its a general idea to weld the entire exhaust together, header, cat, piping. but not the header to the motor

that would be false. There is no need to weld your header onto your head. Thats what gaskets are for.

IIRC, the downpipe needs to be welded to the cat... the header bolts to the engine.

Welding steel to aluminum?... I think you misread whatever you just read. Listen to the others... A gasket and bolts are all you need to mount a header to the head.

yeah i re-read it and i thought he said something else he said it has to be welded to your cat...so nevermind this...hahaha...most useless post ever
