hey u guys i just put a new water pump on my cavalier Z24 with the 2.4 motor in it and i just put a water pump in but now its making a ticking noise while its running just setting there idleing and its annoying and i dont know what it is. do u guys know what it could be? and another thing is is that my car misses while its just idleing but u dont notice it as your going down the road and it runs that same as it did before but idleing it misses. i would like to find out y it is i dont think its plugs cause i aint touched them and before i started on the water pump it ran just fine. any help would be apprietiated thanks

did you have to remove the timing chain? on some 2.4 you have to. sounds like it could be off a tooth on timing if you had to remove it to replace pump

in order to replace the water pump on a 2.4 you will have to mess with the timing chain .. it really sounds like you have it out of timing.. now you must pull the timing chain cover on the front of the motor and put it back in time..

ok thanks u guys i didnt know if it would be the timeing chain or if some how it could have been somethings else i was hopeing it wassnt the timeing chain but o well i guess i will work with it and get it right it is prolly off by a tooth but i just thought i would make sure and see if maybe it could have been something else perhaps but thanks u guys
