heres the story, about a year ago my car's exhaust smelled really bad (rotten) and my auto teacher said that it might be my cat. about a month later the check engine light went on then went off about a month after that. only having an after market muffler, i decided to redo the whole exhaust system instead of just replacing the cat. so i installed pacesetter headers, pacesetter cat back, and a high flow cat. the next day the check engine light went on again (after about 100km of driving). i used my friends OBDII code reader that he just bought and it said that there was something wrong with both my O2 sensors. not too sure what the code was. im thinking that it just needs to be replaced, my car has 130 XXXkm on it. so before i go out and buy new sensors i wanna know if this happened to anyone before or if anyone has any idea's on what the cause might be. any help is appreciated. oh the car is a 99 Z24.
o2 sensor do go bad, its a wear item.they don't last forever.just buy new one should fix your problem
replace your sensors

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Also know (and you can research this on the org, by searching), some people have had issues when putting highflow cats on it it thorowing a code for the rear O2 sensor. Sometimes they can flow too good for the sensor.
FU Tuning
i get it all the time since my exhaust was installed my codes are p0133 and p0420 all i do is reset the computer or use a code reader to erase them

that'll get you red flagged if you ever need to be smogged. CEL's usually are instant fail.
If the code is slow response O2 sensor 1 bank 1, your first O2 sensor on the header, i get it all the time. I have pacesetter header and magnaflow high flow cat. I remember a while back there was a discusion about it and it happened to many people with our headers. They just placed the O2 sensor in a place where it goes off easily. Mine hardly shows up in the warmer months and is on pretty steady during winter. I got a new sensor, I had about 53K miles on the car then, and it didn't do anything i can tell. I just live with it.
Atleast I hope thats the reason my check engine light has been on for a few months now for the 4th or so time.

Its what I get for getting the cheap header.
