ok, i have a "cam help" thing posted too for this, and they recomended i get the stock cam reground, what will this do? i need more duration and lift, because it is a sunbird 2.0L that i have a garrett T3/T4 turbo on, and 0.030oversize pistons, will i be able to just get a regrind? what do they do when they do a regrind? hope you can help, thanks

i think most people take cams to a place and say "hey this is what i ahve done to my car. i want my cams regrind. what can you do for me."
cams for turbo and cams for NA engines would be different. different durrations, different lifts, etc etc

Just call and talk to you favorite cam manufacturer. Be ready to give all the detailed information about your car. They will match you up with what's best for your car, with limitations as to the lobe centers.

Here are the links to some of my favorites: Crane Cams (I'ved used them many times, on many different cars), Comp Cams (used them a couple of times with good results) and Isky Racing Cams (whom I'll be using for my next regrind! ). Each of them have cam reccomendation forms also. Try to fill one out as completely as posible. If you fill one out and call, e-mail, or fax it to them, they can give you a more accurate reccomendation.

The Sunbird OHV engine wasn't so popular here in the US, but in Eurpoe, South Africa, and South America there are bunches of 'em. It's an 8V Vauxhall or Opel "big block" engine if you look through overseas catalogs. Tons of parts available, just gotta pay attention to the exchange rate.

On the 2nd gen forum you can look for Minion. I believe he found a regrinder that produced a good cam.

ok, but its OHC, but that shouldnt make much of a difference on where to go for it, but will it give me the duration and lift to work w/ the turbo and bigger pistons and everything?

Yeah, it's OHC. I have one. It was a typo.

Look for the thread by Minion in the 2nd gen forum.
