hey everyone.

i know this issue has been talked about to death, but here is another forums topic on the ebay wonderchips. i was talking to my boss about them at work on sunday because we saw one on a "pimped" out 4 door civic.

anyways, this forum here is in regards to a mustang that had a chip installed on it. it is a v6 mustang, 2000 vintage, that had one installed. the dyno numbers show that the chip DOES NOT dump more fuel into the vehicle (in this particular case).

what the chip did was it leaned out the engine and dumped out a whole crap load of timing out of the engine.

heres the link, enjoy.

1- its useless no matter how you look at it or what it does.....

2- is a resistor, how that specific resistance effects a vehicle is differnet from car to car, bepends on the scale of sensor valves, some cars it would be rich, some it be lean, either way its junk.

it doesn't matter anyway because the entire table has the same value, ZERO 0. So, it won't add any fuel for cold start conditions because of the IAT values. It switches from this table to the normal Base fuel table at 140 degree's F.

that quote is regarding the base fuel tables for a 3.0 v6 from a ranger/b-series truck. the table shows that the engine, even without the resistor, doesnt dump more fuel in no matter how cold it is.

i understand that this is a completely different engine from ours and that all engines could be different. if some one with HPT posted up our fuel tables im sure they would probably say the same.

anyways, it was info i thought i would post up and share because i thought it was interesting. i bet half you people who responded and may still respond havent even read the post i linked, you just automatically post that this is a tired subject.

this site has a little too many closed minded people belonging to it. take the information i posted up as it is, information. its not ment to be gospel regarurding all engines, but just as a reference into what can actually happen with these chips rather than guessing.

i'm sure that members' on here have some proof on our j-body's that resistors do in fact dump more fuel and it's the same difference as the extended IAT mod, running it somewhere so cold air hits the sensor,in turn advancing timing and dumping more fuel,it's great you went to the trouble of this info but the resistor threads are dead, dead, dead

Even if it had some worth as a mod... paying $50 for a 2-cent resistor is a big ol' RIP OFF!
