2200 air intake
Thursday, April 05, 2007 11:03 AM
I am looking for an intake for my 2200 engine. Right now I got the vibrant intake, however it doesn't bolt directly up to the throttle body (just to the resonator). I am looking for an intake that would bolt right up to the throttle body so it doesn't have to go through the resonator. Is it possible for someone to tell me what intakes bolt directly to the throttle body on the 2200 engine, and if possible include a picture.

Thanks

I do not have a picture, but the Injen short ram works well for me, and goes directly to the TB.

the cheap ebay intakes will do exactly what you want. an intake is an intake is an intake.i dont see the point of spending $200+ on a piece of tube and a gauze cone filter, just not worth it.

Nopi "#1" cold air intake. Bolts directly to the throttle body and won't kill your wallet. I've had mine on for a couple of days and love it. Here's a pic of it on a friend's (hope he doesn't mind me posting it):

Ha ha.. i have the msd coil packs and "nopi #1 one" intake also.
The cold air intake is a bitch to put in since removing the windshield water resovior is involved, but it works very well, especially for the what.. $125 i paid?
The filter seems a little sucky, but i reccomend the nopi intake.. even if you replace the air filter with a k&n, it's still cheaper than most intakes out there, and is constructed well.

Sadly, no more..

That would be my car pictured by Shadowfire, and yes the filters are atrocious. I used a AEM dryflow filter instead, and the intakes are selling for $61.54 now (think I got mine for $50 on sale). I did wrap a piece of thin rubber around the intake where it goes down behind the battery to keep any metal to aluminum rubbing from occurring. If you go for one off Ebay like Rich suggested I'd still look into replacing the filter with a known good brand.

"$61.54 Your Price with Instant NOPI Rebate

Hard to beat that price. Installation didn't take long for me, but that could be because I had already removed my windshield washer reservoir.

Nopi intake is a CAI kit with the filter behind the front bumper out of the engine bay.
