ok so i am looking to put the turbo tech racing upper mount into my 2.4L as well as the trany mounts..
so my questions are these...
1. who has the turbo tech upper mount along with a lower engine mount with tranny mounts? and how bad is it for daily driving with vibrations and such with all the mounts stiffer? like i had just the RK insert for the top mount (which i am replacing) and RK lower mount (which is staying in) with all stock trany mounts and the vibrations were pretty bad... just i do not want to go with the stock mounts when i will be pushing out more then 230+lbs/tq (which is closer to 300lbs/tq at the engine) which isn't huge but its more then i want to do on the stock mounts..
so do you think going with all the mounts it will balance things out a bit and help?
2. i see there are the
Turbo tech mounts but do you have to press these into your stock mounts? as they don't seem to be the full unit, it just says comes with bushing and sleeve? also for thoughs who have these how do you like them?
3. then i see these
prothane mounts which say they do not come with the castings.. so im guessing they would have to be pressed into the stock mounts ??
and does any one have pictures of their own tranny mounts?
The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
For # 2 & 3 they are the same concept, you use the OEM castings and push out the old bushing and push in the new.
Vibrations are known to be less than just the insert, yet you get less movement with the TTR one. Daily Driving and vibs are not much more than the OEM one.
The mounts help keep the wheel hop down to a minimum and keep the power to the wheels.
