I had a '02 5spd, I am getting a Ecotec donor car that is automatic. I want to stay with the 5spd. I can find a Eco 5spd, but is there a way to make the 2200 trans bolt to the Ecotec?
Adapter plate, redrill the holes, ect?
grrr i'm trying to remember from pj's swap if the case of the F23 splits or not... I know the bellhousing itself isn't separate, but some trans' have two halves where you could unbolt the half with the bellhousing but that would require pretty much a whole disassembly to do it i believe. Plus, good luck finding a yard willing to sell you just that part and I doubt it would be cheap from GM. That's IF it can be done at all... its been a long time since last I saw an F23 out of the car.... I'd reason you could have an adapter plate made, but depending on who you find to machine it and what price the yards have a whole trans for it might not be worth it....

just replace the bellhousing. but good luck finding that, cheaper just to buy a used transmission.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
Ok, another question. If I can get my old '02 2200 5spd to bolt onto an Ecotec, can I use my Spec Stage 3 clutch and PP to bolt to the Ecotec?
