I got my Customs tubes 3" put on today....I used a resonator and a muffler w/cutout and its kinda loud through the muffler but I like it and really really loud with the cutout open. My butt dyno feels a little difference but im not sure how much. All I know for sure is that i didnt loose power like everyone is talking about not even down low....in fact she spins the wheels a little better from the start now even with the cutout open. Not sure thats a good thing though. Can't wait to do the head cams and header I think she might be a beast. Well atleast for an auto. I will post pics later.
I like. How loud is it tho?
looks good. You decided not to use a flexpipe or cat?
3" on a N/A engine?
we need a vid witha cut out open
SWEET!!! I have the same 3" exhaust (but with a canister muffler)...... I dont have it on yet, for one simple reason...... WAY TO LOUD (w/o the turbo on there).
As for loosing Trq, ask Jason McElvey....... He's got the same exhaust on his N/A (for now) Z24.

I love your car! Thats a nice setup, it will scream once you get the head and cams in.
You gona have shop make your downpipe for your lsj header?
I hope you like your exhaust. Only thing I would change is get mine made from stainless or get it coated.
I want to laugh at the person that said we would lose TQ with 3" exhaust NA. I don't think 171 ft/lbs is all that bad, LOL!!

Its almost as loud as the stock pipe was when I had just a glass pack on it, but it doesnt drone going down the highway like it did with that setup. When I open the cutout its rediculously loud and I wouldnt even consider driving anywhere with it open.

Right now it has the factory cat but when I install the 086 head and header I will either use a test pipe or a highflow cat and a flex pipe.

Yep I decided to go for it, the fastest N/A ecotec on here has 3"....besides once I get some good track times N/A who knows I might go boost and there is no sence in doing the exhaust twice. Now I can personally say I dont believe the loosing torque with 3" myth.
I f you dont mind me asking how much shipped was the 3 in from custom tubes? I plan on getting one in the near future for my turbo build.
Shipped with a test pipe with o2 bung was $235 to the door I believe.
Great I have the same exhaust from Custom Tubes and I'm going to run a Dynomax 3" bullet in place of the cat and a Magnaflow muffler 5x8 oval 3" inlet & 4" outlet with a polished angled tip for my car.
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
Should sound pretty good...even with my cutout open on the muffler It has a some what deep sounding tone. My redneck friends that hate the sound of 4 cylinders even complimented me on the sound. Gotta love the bullet.
What kinda muffler are your running? I love "DTM" tips.
Im using a flowmaster warlock muffler. The tip I bought seperate and had wielded onto the muffler. I cant seem to fiind a tip that I like better then the good old DTM.
Warlock? Never heard of that...You sure its a Flowmaster?
