Ok...here's a fine question....
I need advice on swaping a 99' OHV for a new or newer Ecotec engine.
I have a 3 speed auto in my current.
I was wondering if i would have to replace my transmission if i were to swap it out.
I was also wondering where to get it and if anyone got good deals on theirs online or if it's just smarter to go and find one.
Any advice would be great.
yes you would have to replace it and any junk yard or dealership cant get you a eco just look around but its gonna be alot of work doing the swap in that late of a year fabricating mounts wiring alot of different issues!!! just throw a 2.4l in and have fun with it!!!
hondas are like tampons.....every pu$$y needs one...
mildly built 99' ln2, eagle h-beam rods, wiseco forged alum. pistons, cusco oil catch, t3/t4 super 60 garret, tial 40 mm wastegate, hp tuners, prothane mount inserts, 2.5" exhaust.
yea seriously with. with your year just find a 2.4 with ecm and harness and do that instead. putting an eco in that is gonna be very hard with all the different issues you will have to deal with during the swap. the 2.4 and OHV mounts are the same for the motor and tranny so it will be a lot easier.
