Can some one tell me how to make the 2.4 t/b bracket work for this swap with the 2.3 t/b. Ive seen pictures of it but none that give a good view of how its done.
i used a dremel tool and cut mine to where it would fit around and over the transmission bell housing, didnt cut too much out of it, and its still stiff and works good, i have both the throttle cable and cruise control hooked up, the only pictures i have suck but here they are anyways.
thanks for the pic. its really hard to see it but ill take a look at it tomorrow. do you know if that vaccum line that comes fom the a/c has to be hooked up even if i dont have a a/c on my car any more? and will my stock 2.4 iac sensor work on the 2.3 t/b as well?
i tell you what, here in about 30 minutes i will get my butt up and take a much better picture for ya.

You'll want to use the 2.3 iac
Also, there is no vacume line that comes from the A/C.. The only lines that connec to the 2.3 TB, are the brake booster line, the black vacume line that comes out of your hanress and the line that connects to your EVAP canister.

Hey Dayton, you have smooth hands.
Tell me though, did you incur that scar in a knife fight with a homeless man in downtown Southaven? Cause it looks like a homeless man used a 'street shank' on you in downtown Southaven. I bet he was going to stab you in like the elbow or something then you were like *dodge* *spin* and that's how he got your hand in downtown Southaven. How big is downtown Southaven? I guess it's obviously large enough to support a moderate population of 'street shank' wielding homeless men in downtown Southaven. Way to use your urban sprawl dodge and spin techniques, props to you.

i really cant tell if you are playing or being smart so here is my best answer, the scar is a burn from work, i have lots being a fast food manager (hoping not to be much longer) and working with a lot of teenagers. now southaven, ms is a suburb of memphis,tn but it is still a fairly large town. 2000 census says about 28,000 people but its one of the fastest growing regions in country so its probably way higher than that.
now my tb must be diffrent then because i do have a vac line running from the a/c, evap, and brake and then on the mani i got vac lines running for map and fpr. runs smoother than it ever did before on 2.4 mani

Thanks for the pictures i see now how you installed it. Thats the way i tryed mine at first but it sits pretty darn close to the battery and when i looked at the other set ups it didn't look right. Ill give it another shot today and she if it works. If any one has a extra 2.3 t/b bracket you want to sell email me cuz i would rather use that one. Thanks for the info to every one who replied.
i just grabbed a 2.3 cc bracket from the local salvage yard

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
You want to sell it? If so email me with a price for it.
i meant to say i grabbed a 2.3 cc bracket and used it for my swap

ok i got the 2.4 t/b braket to work.ill fire it up tomorrow and see how it runs, i still have to make the egr block off plate and drill out the throttle wheel i for got to do that when it was off the car so ill have a little fun trying to do that while its on. But after that iam all done. I hope all goes well.
hey i got it all done now but how to i releave the tensition on the t/b cable? its way to tight and the rpms wont come down but when i move it off the throttle wheel it ideals just fine.
i had to adjust the cruise cable to get mine to idle right it seemed to pull on it some, since you didnt specify which cable you were using but my throttle cable never gave my an issue with being too tight. if you can put up a picture maybe we can help, but i really cant get it in my head.
ok iam just useing the throttle cable and not the cruise control. my set up looks just like yours dayton but the only thing diffrent is yours looks lke you had to cut a notch in the bottom of the bracket and is wayyyy free and clear of any thing. i think if i was to cut of the top mounting ear of the braket it would work cuz thats all thats making it be in theway and pull on the cable to much. the throttle ody wheel only has one hole in it so i cant change that up so my only option is to cut that upper ear off the bracket to make it lean foward a little more and that the tention off the cable. it idiles at 4k with that cable to tight but when i take it off the wheel and just push it over to releave the tention it drops down to normal and idiles at 800 rpm. i can try to get some picks later today if what i have told you still doesnt help.
Well i gave up on the 2.3 t/b so i put the 2.4 t/b back on and it fun fine now. Thanks to every one who help out with there advice.
just for a nudge i used the 2.3 tb modified with a 2.4 throttle wheel and bracket because i originally had this tb on a 2.4 intake and wasn't going to do the 2.3 mani swap. maybe that was the peice of information you were missing, i had forgot about that so i am sorry about it. well best of luck man.
You dont have to make a block off plate, just use a 2K up exhaust gaskit.
