YOU CAN JUST BUY A 90º ELBOW FROM AN EXHAUST SHOP, BUT YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED A COBRA HEAD ADAPTOR, I GOT MINE FROM AIRFLOWONLINE.COM BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DONT CARRY IT ANYMORE IT LOOKED LIKE THIS

so there isnt a cold air intake for the Ho intake manifold? So my only option is find a 90 degree adapter and have a muffler shop make me one then?

if you go look at my vid in the 2.6 stroker thread you can see my intake..its a for a civic originally..but it comes with a 90* elbow and costs about 30 bucks at autozone..you just need to cut about 6" off it and it fits perfect..heres the vid

I want a COLD air intake not a warm air WAI, i have seen the intakes at autozone cause thats what i have, i made a lil ghetto custom cold air with the flex pipe they sell to. But i want it to be all pipe and no flex plastic pipe. So is the muffler shop an okay way to go. But thank you for your response

To be honest, there's no such thing as a cold air intake. You could wrap it in dry ice or ice, but that is getting ridiculous.

As long as the path is smooth you should be fine.

2.4 s tube off ebay and route it down = short cold air intake, very good

If you want cold air, just run the bitch stright down. Just a 90 degree coupler and a 8" long piece of pipe. INTAKES ARE NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! IT IS A PIPE WITH A FILTER, DO NOT OVERTHINK THE PROCESS, IT IS AS SIMPLE AS IT GETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear we should ban anybody that asks about CAI's anymore.....

I KNOW WHAT A CAI IS, WHAT IM ASKING IS WHERE CAN I GET ONE TO SET UP WITH THE HO INTAKE MANIFOLD. I CURRENTLY HAVE A CAI IN MY CAR. I KNOW WHAT I COLD AIR INTAKE IS WHO DOESNT, WHERE CAN I GET THE PIPE TO GO FROM THE TBODY, AROUND THE BATTERY, AND THEN DOWN THE HOLE AND INTO THE WHEEL FENDER. woa I dont seem to understand how you cant comprehend that.

...Because you never specified that it must come from the wheel fender. You just asked about a cold air intake, and "there is more than one way to skin a cat" is an appropriate saying in this scenario. If you just want a CAI, then route the damn pipe ANYWHERE THERE IS COLD AIR. Simple as that. If you want to get air from the fender, then route the pipe there.

1. Buy pipes and bends (muffler shop, autozone, online, etc).
2. Mock up where you want them to go.
3. Cut as necessary for proper fit. You probably won't even need to do this is you get the right lengths to start with. Most likely it doesn't need to be too exact either.
4. Weld the pipes together or just use simple rubber hose connectors(w/clamps on each end) that you can find in any hardware store(plumbing) or at autozone.
5. Slap the damn filter on it and slap the damn intake onto your throttle body.

This isn't brain surgery.

I've never heard of this "part throttle" before. Does it just bolt on?

your also not listening..the intake in the vid is NOT plastic and is NOT flex..its 3" aluminum pipe what more do you want..AND they have it at auto zone for 30 frickin dollaz!!!
get the dang pipe..cut 6 " off it ...and if you WANT point the pipe DOWN instead of behind the battery and then just put the 6" you cut off at the bottom with another 90* elbow..itll put it right up under your fender!!!!! ...but dont take MY word for it !!! its not like i did the SAME THING and bent a rod from water lock cus my intake sucked up sooo much water down there....oh wait..thats EXACTLY what happened!! i hope you have better luck than i did with it lol ( * crosses fingers* )

Well, then in some way you'll want to use the RK sport cai extension in combo with a AEM or ebay AEM 2.4L style intake.

If you wanted to save a couple bucks and have an all metal set up , you can get the Vibrant performance 2.2L Wai.
Same design as the RK sport deal.
And again combo it with a 2.4L AEM style intake.

No problem.

Talk about an extravagantly depressing waste of two perfectly good landfill decorations.

well thanks for the info, just wanted to see if there was already a cold air intake make for this application. I like the idea of welding the pipes instead of a rubber connector.

get the ecotec CAI. dont use the ghey plastic pipe that goes to the TB, use a 90 degree elbow off the TB.

this intake does exactly what you want. wraps around the battery and places the filter down in the fender well.

heres a pic of exactly what im talking about: (to whosever it is... if you have a problem i will delete the pic.)

Dumb idea!

FYI you'll need a 90' with long legs on it and some trimming, $40 shipped for the silicone coupler shown there.

Relocate the battery to the trunk, buy an ebay wia, buy 1' of 3" pipe, buy a 3" elbow, buy 2 couplers(or weld one of the connections), cut the ebay intake in half, take the intake bong out and make the hole big enough to fit the 3" pipe. trim down the 1 ft section of pipe and one half of the ebay intake, put it together, done!

here is a post i did a while back

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=46&i=284751&t=282740#284751

The car sounds amazing, the intake is louder than the exhaust!!
