Quick Air Intake Question
Thursday, July 12, 2007 8:27 AM
I'm looking at the bomz intake for my 2002 Cavalier with the 2200...would it be easier to butcher an intake from the 2.2L from 95-97, or the 2.4L from 95-02 to fit my car. Just looking for a cheap/easy intake.

do you want to butcher something you already have?
the 2.4 intake will not work. just buy one thats made for your car.
you get what you pay for.

I just saw a decent deal for those two intakes...$38.00 w/ free shipping. I figured it might be worth it to try one of those two intakes, I just didn't know what one would be closer to the 2200 set-up.

So if I was to try this...are you saying that the 2.2 for 95-97 would be easier?

if you're getting an intake that connects directly to the throttle body (which you should), the difference between the 95-97 2.2l and the 98-02 2200 is a 90 degree elbow (the throttle body on the 2200 sits lower and you'll need the elbow to reach it).
