Ok i was looking into getting some stiffer engine mounts, but I have a few questions to those that have them, how big of a difference do they make in acceleration, is the vibration really that bad, are they worth the time and money. My motor is basically stock except an intake. I am looking to some basic mods and was curious if this is worth it.

I have them and love mine, gives it a lot more power to the ground that would be lost in engine roll. so i say go for it. TTR sells both upper and the new lower. check out www.turbotechracing.com
Is it a real noticeable difference or just a little. I have never riden in a car with different motor mounts.
its noticeable , if you set the idea of vibs and noises aside , and pay attention to how the cars drives and feels , it will feel like a different car
i havent tried ttr's new lower mount yet , but ive got the upper and the old rk lower with the bushings mark pain did (softer) , and with the auto , and a/c on you knew the mounts was there , but anything past 1000 rpm and you never notice them
this was in a 00 2.4 auto , each car is different
also if you ever get HPT , or have someone tune your car , they can play with the idle speed and any vibs at idle with the a/c can almost disappear

Yea they definitely help put power to the ground. I have the upper insert and rk lower, and I pull consistant 2.2 60' times which isnt bad for an auto running a 15.6
Im prolly gona go with a ttr upper sometime, they look much better and people have said the vibes are less noticeable. For the least vibes go with both a ttr upper and lower. Might cost a bit more but they are great quality.
Oh and my vibes arent even too bad,atleast they realy dont bother me; the vibes are pretty bad with the a/c on though. But if its realy hot and I need the a/c on, Ill just hold the throttle up to about 1000rpms to stop the vibes.

oh yeah, almost forgot how hard are they to install? Is it something I can do in my garage with hand tools and a jack?
Very simple to do. Id suggest using some dish soap, it can come it handy
I have only the lower mount, and soon to be tranny mounts if I finally find the time to install them. The main thing I noticed was more consistent clutch feel, it feels like it grabs better. Definitely worth the $45 I spent for it. The install is easy. I found it easier to remove the wheel well to work with, most people don't bother.
ttr has the best options , better made mounts and less vibs from them , and doing the upper ttr mount is easier that doing a insert
the lowers are cake to do
5spd trans requires some time and more work , the auto once its out will require work too
You will not notice any vibrations at all since you have a 5spd. The care will feel so much more sporty when you let out the clutch. You are going to love it. I would do it to mine as the very first mod in a heartbeat. Since you will not have a problem with vibration there is no need to spend the extra money for the TTR lower. By the way I have both prothane upper and lower mounts on my car. It does not matter whether you buy from aplus or rk sport or even ebay it is the same mount made by prothane. Unless you buy from TTR and they sell both the prothane and their own TTR made mount last I knew. So uless you buy the TTR made mount you are buying a prothane made mount. The only difference is who the seller is.

Jason is a great guy, we also carry prothane brand products, they are under the "drivetrain" section. We are a direct dealer now with prothane.

The TTR mounts are AMAZING, installed them tonight and WOW!! The car feels so much better. Did a 4 k launch, little tire spin and now wheel hope. Also the car seems to pull a little harder, but that could be because i haven't driven the car hard in a while....damn gas. Def a huge difference!

if you get motor mounts definately look into getting the transmission mounts aswell. They make a HUGE difference in the vibes aswell. My car for example vibed like heck with just the lower engine mount, soon as I put the transmission mounts in the vibes have prolly been reduced by at least 35-40% in my opinion... I can actually start from a dead stop with a/c on now without my dashboard going crazy... which I consider a big diff in my mind... lol

ok, the upper engine mount from TTR looks more sophisticated than rksport's..plus ppl seem to be happy with it..but how about the lower engine mounts?
would TTR's lower engine mount make that much of a significant change? or should i just go with rksport's cheaper model? or is RK basura?
