Well im looking to an EGR simulator, ive searched. Most of which came up about a year or two ago from ZZ performance. Ive checked and they do still carry it. I was wondering if theres anymore or if anyone else had any luck with the egr simulator on a 96 Z24. Ive heard alot of people it makes there engine run like @!#$ etc..
I would be using this simply to turn off CEL on a 00+ Engine and 96 ECU Thanks.
And possibly someone else has the simulator here? Seen quite a few in previous threads people were trying to get rid of Let me know
i got a 96 and had that simulator. ran like crap. i have a 2k motor also(that dont matter).
it works on getting rid of that check engine light, but tapping into the map sensor signal wire causes a voltage drop which made my car hesitate pretty bad, and randomly stall at times.
my solution- cleared the egr code each time i started the car for two years, then removed the gm s/c and put the egr back on there.
only option for you is rewire it to a 97, get hp tuners and remove the code.
why you need the EGr gone anyways.?
i have a 2001 engine and i would need the CEL light off to pass smog
I tried to tell you. You CAN RUN A 2001 MOTOR in a 96 AND USE THE EGR SYSTEM. Did you hook the EGR up on the new motor?? Did you run the 96 intake manifold?? Answer these questions and maybe we can help you.

i do not have ANY OF THE OLD EGR stuff from my old motor..
Either i need advice WHAT EXACTLY I NEED TO ADD EGR (Do i need a new intake manifold??)
or anyone who has used the egr sim.. with any kind of success

use the 96 exhuast manifold/gasket, 96 intake manifold and EGR stuff. That stuff can transfrer over to the 2k motor .
once that is all hooked up you will have no problems.
in the process of tracking the stuff down.. just wish i knew before i got rid of the old engine =[ i had to use the exhaust manifold already so im good there just need to get the gasket w/ egr
EGR simulator= illegal in California
You need the exhaust manifold, and gasket, egr valve, and gasket, egr to intake manifold tube, and o-ring.
any modification to exhaust in CA = illegal thats a no brainer..
i already have 96 exhaust man. on so i could use th existing exhaust obviously.. still in search of the rest of the parts
