throttle body and intake great sell price.

I found a new tb with a typhoon air intake for the ecotec on ebay selling for 359 plus 23 to ship. The throttle body is suppose to start with a 69mm bore tapper to a 60 and then to a 62 to meet the manifold, is it a good idea to use that tb? Its suppose to be a reveco throttle body with a new tapper design to increase air flow. It doesnt have the electronics but thats just a couple of screws, and its suppose to have a proper seal of the butterfly and everything. The butterfly is copper. I also plan on getting a charger late next year and i thought a bigget tb would even help that out, am i right about this thinking? Finally, would i need a new gasket as well for the tb?

SO my questions are:
1. Is it a good idea to be a tb with a 69mm bore that tappers to a 60 and then to a 62 to meet the manifold?
2. Would a bigger tb help out a sc?
3. Would i need a new gasket for the throttle body?

Also, i bought a gasket and a lower motor mount off of this seller, i havent had any trouble with him. His ratings are very good as well.

A bigger throttle body is a good thing to have supercharged or not. That intake is going to have to be cut up to fit once you have a supercharger on it.

That sounds like alot of money though. I mean if you have $380.00 you would be wise to just save it to put towards buying the supercharger. That throttle body and intake are not going to even be close to the bang for the buck you will get out of the supercharger.

I plan on saving up a lot near the end of this year with christmas and my birthday coming up so i was still in the hunt for some mods, i figured a tb would help out now and even help out later, even the intake would. I know it'll need cut up when i get the charger but till then i can get a bit of fun out of it. I'm not sure if i'm gonna go charged, i'd like to but now im sorta interested in the patriot head, i asked a question seeing about the horses i could get from the head. Its cheper and might get me to the mid 13's low 14's like i'm shooting for.

Yeah i think ill go charger next summer and then hopefully i can get the patriot stage 2 head w/o cams and have a set of blower cams thrown on and have a nice flowing engine whata think? Looks like i will be saving up for the charger still, and then get a head wihtout cams and use blower cams.

I heard from the cobaltss.net that the Ecotec 2.2 throttle is pretty optimal for a stock motor.
If you go bigger, you will have more high end and less low end.
It is all about what you prefer.
Do you want a stop light racer or a freeway flyer?

is it better to have the 62mm straight through throttle body like smg is selling or this reveco throttle body with a 69 to a 60 then out to a 62 to meet the manifold? Also, it is advertised to optimize low to mid range torque so that would still make it a stop light racer?

Id say smg.

With theirs you're going 69, 62, 62 me thinks.

All I know is, fo rthe 2.4, they list something like 64, 57 or some junk.
Well, I took a caliper to my factory tb, and the friggin opening is already 64.

Just gotta be careful with marketing tricks.
