I have another post related to this one, so if you have any questions about WHY I'd be wanting to do this now here is the reason:

What I'm wondering is if anyone knows someone who has done this swap? I understand there will be some electrical changes, probably ECU and even engine mounts or something else. I'm just to the point that honestly, I've already got the car in a shop with the engine on a lift, why not just go the extra mile if the swap is possible and finish up? I'm not dead set on that engine and to be honest I'm really just trying to save some time by getting this done now instead of going without a car again later. While that might not sound good, I'm more comfortable waiting a bit longer now than waiting later when I might need it. Also, I'm not able to find anyone so far who is selling this motor at the moment, and I would like to find at least one reputible dealer of engines that I can do a price comparrison against what the repair shop shows me so I'm not ripped off even if I simply decide to go with the exact same engine (additional parts ect. will come out of pocket, I don't plan on doing any BS insurance fraud or anything like that, also why I'd like to ensure the price of the engine against a reputible dealer).
good luck
the only thing really in common between the 2 is the name ecotec
it will be a pita but with money and fab skills its feasible.........but not worth it.
its not liek a normal eco swap......you would have to swap everything from the donor car..........everything
in essence have a complete solstice/sky in a j
yea i cant edit but......
just install another eco.............the LNF WILL NOT WORK.
it would be cheaper to buy a solstice
LNF is that the turbo motor? Very nice. Cheaper to buy a solstice? Doubt it. Depending on how much you get the drivetrain for you can do it for a few grand. I suggest going complete standalone, its a bit more expensive but its def worth it in the end, it cuts your wiring in 1/2 and cleans it up. Motor mounts are easy and with a few pieces of hard rubber and metal you can get it mounted. With Megasquirt I believe you will have to change the crank ring, but I do not acutally know what the LNF uses
yea you have fun swapping that in
you know the LNF is direct injection and it has externally mounted components right?
I don't think it will physically fit inside the jbody engine bay... not to mention the 2000psi of fuel pressure the LNF has to run due to direct injection (yes, 2000psi.. no typo)
none of your computer will be compatible in the least bit so prepare to also drop a minimum of $1000 on a stand alone
just get another L61
you're going to be dropping major $$$ to swap that motor in, and I don't think its going to work
Well I appreciate the advice, and I'll be going with the l61 instead per suggestion. I've got to speak with the mechanic who has my car and whatnot today and have this same discussion which is why I come to JBO - to learn from experienced people.
Thanks again!
Anyone got pictures of the motor?
the L61 is the 2.2 eco, right? won't the 2.0 s/c fit?
LD9 F23 FTW!!

the engine itself will. the tranny wont. thats what i hear anyway

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I thought that both engines use the Getrag F-23, maybe with a different bellhousing...?
(Ecos aren't really my thing, though- I have an LD9, and don't plan on deviating from the quad/TC family)
LD9 F23 FTW!!
the lsj will physically fit with work,..............................but the computer wont beable to control it
