hey guys, i cant drive now cause of this so could you please reply asap,
quick overview
i have a 2002 cavalier ls sport with an 2.2ecotec in it,
i ordered a 2002-2004 rk sport ecotec 2.2 high flow intake
i put it all together and its in now
i put the big (thicker) hoses from the only outless on the intake to the top of engine
THE PROBLEM IS i have a really thin hose coming from my fuel rail that went into stock airbox and theres no place to put it in the new intake
i have a second smaller(thinner) hose but no clamps or anyplace to put it,
please help if u can
do i need the hose and what is it and why is it coming from my fuel rail?
thanks in advance
HEY i talked to rk sport he said theres a cap on the tb take it off and hook it up,
but there wastnes
SO I LOOKED AND THERE IS ONE ON INTAKE MANIFOLD
so i hooked it up there and now im goign to go try it
wish me luck
you hook the fuel pressure reg up to the port on the intake
the eco's do not have a port on them for it
nothing like more BAD INFO from rkcrappy

^ that's exactly what your supposed to do. hook it up to the spare vaccum spot on the intake manifold right below the throttle cable

cool, guys IT SOUNDS SO AWESOME, i forgot wat it was like to have a real intake on my car. my last z24 had bore throttle body, and modified stock intake (k&n with drilled holes lol) and it didnt soudn this good.
im looking forward to pacesetter armor coat 2005 2.0l lsj header with 1 3/4 inch tubind with 3 in collection, 2.5 inch custom bend exhaust and high flow/performance cata, and straight through muffler with crome tip.
then hp tuning...
question1 what do you think the air intake did from stock 140 and 2what do you think that exhaust combo would be and 3how much after that can i tweak out with hp tunning?
thanks guys

Well...honestly?
1) If you're lucky you might have picked up 5 whp (2-3 is probably more likely, actually). Keep in mind 140 is crank HP so if you have a dyno tune done with HPT (or just dyno the car) you're going to see under that amount. I forget how much the stock Eco usually dynos at.
2) Again, the exhaust isn't going to give you that much power. Maybe 10 whp...it could be slightly more, could be slightly less.
3) Here's where it could get interesting. Totally depends on how into the tuning you (or the tuner) gets. If all that is done is a little bit of tweaking the air/fuel ratio, you may only see 5-8 whp gain more. However if you get into timing advance and other stuff, it could be more than that. Plus, I always say, peak HP gains aren't the only thing to have in mind. Your peak HP could stay exactly the same after a mod, but you could gain HP at EVERY OTHER RPM point besides the peak. Your car would feel a LOT faster if that was the case, especially if there were large gains in the lower to middle range.
Personally, I say don't get all hung up with specific HP gains. Many of the bolt ons may not even make a numerically observable difference in HP, but will help increase throttle response or help pave the way for future mods - i.e. exhaust preparing for boost/nitrous. Take claimed HP gains with a grain of salt if they come from an eBay ad or a manufacturer - rarely if ever would you actually dyno the amount they claim. And even if their claims were right, you can't just add the gains from each mod and come up with a total gain - the gains almost always come in slightly different parts of the RPM band and therefore will generally come out less than simply a sum of all the individual mods.
well, the person going to help me is Robimus Prime and I think he knows alooooooot about hpt, i just want to get exhaust done now. i have my rk sport intake in and i beat my friends mustang tonight so if i get exhaust and let it flow better than stock im hopping to get more hp,speed but i think i will loose my low end torque.
my buddy says i should only get cat back and not do my orgininal plane ( pacesetter armor coat 2005 2.0l lsj header with 1 3/4 inch tubing with 3 in collection, 2.5 inch custom bend exhaust piping and high flow/performance cata, and straight through muffler with crome tip.) cause i will loose so much backpressure that i wont gain any? is this true, i know my low end will take a hit but with all that flow high end should be much easier to push exhaust out.
he says let orginial manifold downpipe and cata on but i think thats slowing me down!!!! help please
less restriction should give you a gain in high- RPM power. you could lose some low-end torque if you have really little backpressure. read the resonance FAQ (sticky). it should explain better. if you take out the cat, you have to make the computer think that it's still there... do some research, and don't listen to everything you hear...
LD9 F23 FTW!!

exactly, i have been, but alot of research has been people opinions. i have read the entire faq sections, including the resonating sticky. about velocity and diameter, but that doesnt help me when i want to get a header and the stock pacesetter header for cavy ecotec is 1 1/2 inch tubing and a friend told me to get 1 3/4 inch tubing one from the cobalt ss and another friend said only do cat back or u loose ALLL LOW END TORQUE AND UR CAR HAVE NOTHING, so its extremes and im confuses and about to say SCREW EVERYONE IM DOING WHAT I WANT AND JUST GET WHAT I WANT (pacesetter armor coat 2005 2.0l lsj header with 1 3/4 inch tubing with 3 in collection, 2.5 inch custom bend exhaust and high flow/performance cata, and straight through muffler with crome tip) the header is 1 3/4 inch tubing vs 1 1/2 inch so thats even less rescrticion. i think it will blow away my friends weak mustang and he only wants me to do cat back so i wont mop him in front of his car buddies ahahahahaha what ya think is that ok setuP???
