i stick w/ the stock PF46, seems to do the job just fine. nice find though.

more oil compacity = better cooling for one thing and im sure hoving a half a quart more wone hurt any thing

The difference in cooling with the slightly larger filter is rather negligible, and really has no bearing on how much oil you put into your crankcase. I prefer to use it for the little bit of extra filtration it provides.

that too i just for got to put that down there is absoutly no harm in using it why not though bigger is better lol right

any big issue with not having the anti drainback valve?
I was going to ask this too, kinda strange that someone already did..
I wan't to install a bigger filter too, but all I can get around here is Fram for the most part.. Anyone have the fram# for the oversized ones.

Check with your local auto parts stores they should be able to cross refrence it for you.

any autoparts store should be able to cross reference the filters i labled above.
that 8a is a mighty large one. same relief pressure and all that?

I run Purolator Gold L14006 for the first 7500 miles... then Purolator L14006 for the last 2500 ... and i use Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic for the entire 10k miles between changes...
Autozone carries the AC Delco filters. It is where I get mine. I run the PF61 on my 2.4 (for a few years now)

I wouldn't run a POS Fram filter.... Delco is best, by far. It's the same manufacturer as some much more expensive brands...
Fram uses cardboard in it! Bleah...
I'm using the PF52 on my 3.8L now... supposed to be the PF47, same as the 2.2L.

I agree with this as well. I use to live by Fram. Until I had the seal blow out. Switched to AC Delco never a issue.

Why would I want to filter my lager, I'll just drink it straight.

Yes, timing chain noise, as you have no oil preser at start-up.

Only if you are using the crappy factory style tensioner.
