My question is.... will a 1998 2.4 header work on a 2000 2.2? the reason i ask is i bought a used header before reading details and after paying for it i read that the person had a 2.4L and i have a 2.2. but i was thinking, if the bolt pattern and the exhaust ports all match up then i think it would work but i cant remember how the EGR is set up on the 2.4 and if that would be a problem. Iam pretty sure the major differance would be the down pipes which are separet. any help would be greatly appreciated! and yes i know i need to read before buying.

Nope...the 2.4 header comes off the back of the motor and the 2.2 comes off the front. If you tried to hook it up to the 2.2 it would be poking through the radiator. Plus the bolt pattern is different. Now if it were a 2.2 ecotec it could be made to fit...I did the oppsite in my car.

i was looking at pictures of the header and the flang is horizontal to the ground it doesnt have a bend in it. so if thats the case you should be able to just connect the stock downpipe/cat to it and it should be good, but if you say the bolt pattern is different then it wouldnt work any way. Can any one else comfirm this?
