Is doing a upper motor mount tough? Or would the shop by my house charging $175 to do it a good deal?

It takes 15-20 min max. If you are refering to replace it with a solid engine mount from Turbo Tech Racing, it comes with instructions and again takes no time at all and only basic hand tools.

Upper motor mounts are an easy install, definitely dont pay 175, im thinking this is more like an hour of your time maybe a 1/2 hour from a tech, maybe less on both parts.

Do it yourself, its easy enough.

Just use a jack to support the engine underneath.
I use it at the lower mount support, making sure not to be on the mount itself.

When you remove the be 15mm bolts up top, the engine will rock a little.

But once you have them going in through the mount and back in then you'll be ok.

Yeah do it yourself....actually look at the member profiles and see who is around you to help out some to show you how to do this!

It's so easy!! 15 - 20 mins to be honest for a skilled person. Doing things yourself will pay for more parts!!

I did mine in the driveway in maybe 20 mins. Use a floor jack to support the engine (use a little block of wood to make contact with the oil pan) and then just enough pressure to hold the engine up. Undo the bolts, take old mount out and insert new mount and tighted things down. You'll need to wiggle the engine a bit to get things lined up but it's not tough at all. Make sure to use a manual to get the torque specs correct!!

Like I said...find some guys in your area and ask for a little help. $170 can go to a few more parts...minus some food a drinks of course for the guys helping out!

That's what we do here...help one another out and learn!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Ok thanks guys. But you dont think it would be worth the 40$ to install? Because the mount from turbo tech is 134.99.

IMO it is worth about $20.00 to install, it takes 15 min, and that would be a shop rate of $80.00 hour.

Once you get the mount and see the instructions you will do it yourself and save some $
