I was looking into different upgrades and what not. It says the stock hp for the 2003 cavalier 2.2eco is 145hp. I was looking at a supercharger and it says it brings the hp to 200. Its a costly upgrade. Are there other upgrades that can get me to 200hp or even more with out spending 2-3k?

Thats 200 hp with stock everything else. If you have full exhaust, smaller pulley, etc. then it would be more. Cams with a head job would put you close to 300 if you did it right, including a good tune.

The intake and exhaust alone don't do much. Maybe 10-15 hp if lucky.

But when you start doing a lot of internal work and adding boost, the free-er flowing intake and exhaust help capitalize gains. You're basically reducing a bottleneck from the outside in, which is the best way to do it.

here are some ideas:

Intake
full 2.5 exhaust
eliminate cat (if state allows)
port head
S/C
smaller pulley
Comp blower grind cams
balance shaft delete kit or neutral balance shaft kit

but if you do all that I recommend forged internals, and a better head gasket....thats just me, and probably some other people too. lol

OR

you can take the easy way out and buy a wet nitrous kit and run a 75 wet shot. That will place you over 200hp.
