Problem After Eco Swap
Thursday, January 10, 2008 6:01 PM
Hey guys I just finshed my eco swap into my 97, and now im having problems, It hesitants and stutters real bad off idle. Once you get over the first 10-15% of throttle it runs fine. Any time it is left at idle, like at a stop light or slowing down when it is allowed to idle, when you get back on the throttle it hesitants and stutters again. I scanned for codes and it came up P0107 which has to do with low voltage circuit of the MAP. I inspected the harness for the MAP and didnt find any issues with it so I went ahead and replaced the MAP sensor, but still have the same issue. Any ideas?

sounds like a possible tps sensor issue, check it/clean it

Interesting.... did you have a donor car or are you using the bare minmals to do the swap?

but thats the thing the #1 injector works fine now, i undid what you did the other night and its working just fine, the only problem im having right now is when i give it gas at around 2000 rpm it stutters like crazy, but if hit the gas and go right to like 3000+ its fine, I have no clue whats wrong

Everything came from a donor car except the motor and trans

ya hence i really really think there is an issue in the wiring, cuz it worked, then didnt, and now u say the injector is working again. remember checking with the multi meter, there was no power running through it when i was there, so i think something is shorting and doesnt have the strong connection, prob just hangin there and being connected when it feels like it.

i had a map code flash in my 97 z24 (ld9) uppon visual inspection of the map and wiring nothing looked broken.

The engine was missing on cylinder 1&3 and stuttering uppon take off and tranny shifted really hard i bought an new map sensor like u did hopeing it would fix the problem and it didn't.

I had to buy 2 new coils because they burnt up (and the plastic housing and new spark boots becaus the coils melted them together) which helped a little it didnt misfire as much and still stuttered

Working with electrical problems at work(in a hardware store) i thought what if the wire is messed up inside the connector?

I un-pluged the map and pulled the impact connector apart and found that the first wire closest to the tb was broken in side the connector.

I pulled the other 2 wires from the connector (marking location on a peice of paper and masking tape) I pulled the spade out and solidered a 2" extention in place and hooked the map back up and haven't had a problem with the enging studdering since.
