Buy new or reuse old crank?

Heres my Dilemma, I got a parts car that had be rolled over and basically the oil ran out of the motor. I poured oil in and started the car for alittle to make sure it ran. The engine knocked for maybe 2-3mins then stoped and ran fine. So i was gonna get the Crank Balanced, lightened, polished, then cryo treated. Now i found a guy sellin a remaned crank and bearings for 100 bucks. Do you guys think i should just buy the "new" crank and then get it balanced and crap or just use the old? I'm just afriad that the old crank might be wraped or scraped from it knocking or something that happend in the roll over.

if you buy the "reman" crank have it checked for straightness. a major issue with "remans" are they have had a journal welded, thus warping the crank. I have found about 25% not to be straight. which will of course take out you main bearings. If I were you I'd pull the crank out of the engine, take it in have the journals checked. then go from there
