CAT Question
Saturday, February 16, 2008 6:08 AM
I recently had a check engine light on, come to find out it was code p0420. I was told I have a bad CAT and was quoted $400 to have it replace. I have a megnaflow exhaust installed from a few years ago. Do I have to replace the whole system or is it just a part of it? Is this hard to do? I can't see myself paying someone $400 for something that can be done myself if I can.

honestly you can do it your self and you can get a replace ment cat section with cat for like 150 on ebay.

Is it pretty easy to install? Or is it an all day event?

if you've ever played with exhaust before, you could have it done (if ou buy the hardware such as hangers or clamps if you cant weld, maybe some extra pipe as its fairly short...) in about 2 hours, 3 at the most.
