i got my car with some champion plugs in it...the plugs themselves are still in good condition....probally origonal wires too..they dont look the greatest...by swaping out the plugs to the acdelco plats will it actually give me any better fuel milage or proformance over the champions that are in there...or should i just wait til its time to change the plugs. i got a 97 2200 ohv sunfire.

taking the 2200 out of the cavy and throwing it into the sunfire, taking the 3100 out of my friends GrandAm and throwing it into the cavy. XD Definatly a work in process...

champions are the worst spark plug available, second only to bosch. yes, change them to delco platinums or even ngks.

The only time I've used Champions was in my '88 Ramcahrger, and those were the truck plugs. I didn't have alotta money to throw around wily-nily & I just installed a complete MSD system in the truck so I wanted what was the most affordable hard-wearing plug available. I gapped them to stock & used a HD brass terminal cap with it all. The result: Got a (Rounded out) 20% increase in fuel mileage & the plugs & cap would last 35,000mi (The old school avg.) before needing replacement. And between installation & replacement I didn't need to gap them once!

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Thats like saying Pontiac is worse than Chevy, AC in AC Delco stands for Albert Champion.. The plugs are the same patents, hince the same plugs more than likely.

so...champion, ngk, and ac delco are all the same...thats kinda...gay, lol. im guessing the IX iridiums are probally the same as the plat's...the champions i have are probally the bottom of the line ones...so anything other than that would be better....guess ill go with the ac delco plats since their a little cheaper i believe, ill cross check them when i go to part source next time...as for wires, which are some of the better ones....

I've been using the Champions from Wal-Mart for years.
I even broke my best time in the 1/8 with a set of the Champion Platinums.
Heck, for about $9 bucks for a set of 4, they're a best buy. Plus, I change them out every time I change the oil so I have no issues with longevity of the plugs.
The Bosch Plats made the car run like shiat.
The NGK's were no better in performance than the Champions so I stuck with the Champs.

AC Delco and Champion are not the same company. Champion plugs only belong in Dodge products and Briggs and Straton engines. AC delco plugs are now made by NGK. Champion is its own separate company and and product. I have seen very few GM vehicles that run well on Champion or Bosch plugs.
