My 03' ECOTEC powed Cavalier got the full exhaust treatment the last week of March and I thought I would share. The car already had an RK Sport short ram intake and the REVCO throttle body.

Exhaust Specfics

RK Sport 4-2-1 header - $225 (thank you to Joshua Waston for the I bought an STI special)

New upstream O² sensor - $70 (O'Reilly Auto Parts - Bosch universal type) - Yes I was to lazy to remove the old one from the header.

Carsound OBD II high flow catalytic converter 2¼" ID - $50 (thank you Steve W)

Heartthrob 2½" ID cut out with 3" dump pipe - $35 (JCWhitney.com)

2 ½" ID Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow O/C muffler - $70 (eBay)

Flowmaster 2½" OD to 4" OD round exhuast tip - $40 (eBay)

install - $170 (header installed then taken to shop)

Total Cost (approximate): $700

i did the same thing around the same time. minus the cutout, plus a flange with a selection of mufflers to choose from.
sounds alot like mine too.

i have a Tsudo header which i belive is the same design as the RK sport. the stock O2 wires arent long enought so a new one was neccassary.

any track times for the new setup? unfortunatly i wont be able to run mine for several months, so i have no idea how much it helped.

Listen F***ers. FASTERTHANAHONDA is a joke because I WORK FOR HONDA. I'll talk @!#$ about Fords to, that doesn't mean I can beat a 12 second mustang.

I have autoxed it once so far but on my street tires so it is hard to say. I was actually slower with the cut out open, probably because I was in awe of how nice it sounded and felt still.

Sounds pretty good, much deeper tone, kind of like a drone but thats what Id much rather have than rasp. Im redoing my exhaust again using a flowmaster 40 which I have, all 2.5" piping, magnaflow 2.5" cat, and stans 4-2-1 header with 2.5" downpipe. So it will be all striaght 2.5" piping from header back.

Id love to see/hear a better clip if you could get one

alittle more than i think a exhaust is worth but to each their own.

My exhaust i got mandrel bent for $180 all said and done with a dynomax muffler which is straight through and this system is done really nice. Only thing thats not "perfect"on the system is the cat i got for free and plugged up under just to pass the mirror test cause it's gutted

I could have gone with a cheaper header, but with the problems some have had with them I decided not to push my luck. I feel like I got a heck of a deal on a like new RK Sport piece. What I am trying to say is I think I did pretty well at cutting costs with the system without giving up quality.

IMO of course.
