my friend has a 95 cavalier with a fairly new engine, gear box, and clucth in it but the cars body is gone to far so he was gunna send it to the scrap yard but he asked me if i wanted it for parts for my 97 sunfire first, he said he'd just give it to me but he also said that hes computer went in the car once and he couldn't find a computer for it anywhere Because it was a different one.. so im assuming hes car is the early model 95 with the OBDI computer in it not the OBDII. so my question is will any of the motor gearbox or clucth work for parts in my 97 sunfire? thanks
Was it a 2.3HO? If so thats a sweet engine for being stock, but eitherway being a 95, I think you would want to check your local laws. I know around here its illegal to swap an OBDI engine into an OBDII car :S. Other than that everything on the car should work on your sunfire except the rear bumper and trunk lid if you have a 2 door fire, iirc. i *think* gearbox and clutch will be the same for both cars but even if they're not, yours can be swapped for them, I would grab it if its a cheap parts car, why not.

yea thats wat i figured cheap y not lol and no its only the 2.2 same as whats in mine i just didn't know if any of the wiring harness would be different i thought the gearbox and clutch mite be the same. and i never heard of anything like that being illegal around here lol y is it illegal anyways?

the HO never came in j-bodies. and wasn't 95 the obd1.5 nightmare?
