Ok. Durability is the topic and quality. I wanted to know if it's that much of a big deal to get the armor coat over the black painted. Is the only difference another coat? Also, won't the black painted be just as durable as the stock OEM header anyway? Just trying to save money. Didn't know if it would be that big of a difference.
No, your stock header is a thick cast metal, the aftermarket headers are thin extruded metal that has been mandrel bent. The black one will bake off the paint and then degrade over time. If you want it to last long and still look good go with the armor coated. As an added bonus the armor coated lets less heat into your engine bay.

well, that's only a portion of it. the armor coating helps to keep the exhaust gases expanding, which aids in the exhaust scavenging effect (helps to pull the exhaust out of the cylinder).

i have to agree with everyones opinion.
ceramic = better in all aspects
Agree aswell i got the black ones and after the first day all the paint burnt off and now looks like ugly metal. I will be upgrading to the armor coated one the next time i do anything to the engine.

yea it's not a bad price at all. I think i'd prolly install myself with the help of a friend who has installed them myself to cut the cost of shop labor.
