Does anyone know if there is a shorter belt for the Ecotec without A/C? I am planning on putting in the eco-charger but I am also taking out my A/C to clean up the engine some when I install the charger and don't want to have the A/C compressor in there as well.
there is no bypass pulley, nor shorter belt to run since its double sided ribbed. You gotta run the compressor down there. I looked everywhere myself, i just grabbed a used one off an .org member with bolts.
Isn't there an AC Delete somewhere thats just like a pulley? I swear i've seen one on ebay so you don't have to worry about shorter belts and such..
for the 2.2 OHV yes
Possibly the LD9 too. I thought about designing a bracket and then just mounting an idler pulley to it, but the compressor just free spins when its disengaged anyways. So i bought a compressor for $20 bucks. lol
I could swear i've seen the eco in some base model sunfires and cavs without AC.

they make a delete pulley for the LD9 and ohv. but i have never seen one for the eco...
but they also have a shorter belt for the LD9 for a complete delete. not that it will really make a difference with having a pulley or just a shorter belt..

eco's with no a/c had a shorter belt
ALSO HAD YOU SEARCHED THE CORRECT FORUM , YOU WOULD HAVE FOUND YOUR ANSWERS
you can't just take out the a/c. here's a pic of the belt routing.

You need the A/C compressor to act as an idler pulley. It just needs to spin free to do the job, no need to be in function. My car came with no A/C so I just bought one in a scrap yard which had a free turning pulley, cheap easy solution. But anything custom can be made in the end.
