I read the ohv rocker write up and saw that madjack said that these rockers will fit the pre 98 ohv...http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CSP%2DS1003&autoview=sku... Has anyone done this conversion yet? What is needed? I have a 96 2.2L OHV.
if you decide to do this let me know ..... im looking for someone to go in with on a set
Hmmmm... Sounds like what I'd want to do with my '99 LN2.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Yea def. let you know. I just need to know what it will take to do it.
depending on what engine you have (2.2 / 2200)
lsx springs if the stockers bind i still dont think we know at what lift the stockers bind
in some cases pushrods
i think that you need the self guided rockers (not shure) (i can use eather)
if you use stronger springs you may have to do the hybrid lifter and cut down the spring seats
LSX springs won't fit without machining the seats on a 96. There's pretty much no way to make them work at all on a 98+ without using custom length valves.
With the 2.2's, all you need are a 1.7" installed height spring with a .010" shim, i'd talk to madjack for a retainer/lock setup that works. The K-motion K700's have the highest lift capability of any 1.7" spring I've seen so far, which is .500". Comp has a set that are .490" and they're the next closest that I've seen.
With the stock cam you'd probably be ok with the 1.65 rockers on stock springs so long as you're staying within the factory rev limit, but I wouldn't push the lift or RPM any more than that without getting springs, retainers, and locks.

They fit in the 97- fine, you just need to keep the lift down

I'm bringing this up since Luis is looking to buy my spare head, which uses LSX springs.

They're LS1 springs, more like 105# seated and .480" lift (or thereabouts).
