I use one personally....I dont think you need to go buy a $200 one or anything, but they are helpful, ecpecially if you are connecting your crank ventilation back up to your intake tube.

i bought one from summit for 30 bucks and installed it, I use to have those little filters and i would get oil everywhere on my engine. I really like it and they are useful, i can get a pic of my install if you'd like.

Mines in the right corner mounted to the shock tower. E-bay $20 shipped (HKS)

I have one but not installed yet, got it for 25 bucks off E-bay. Reason why I wanna install it is because I dont like oil being sucked into my intake and gets it all oily and dirty inside. I dont know how it helps with performance but I drive my car daily on highways to work and back, but at least I know my engine will remain cleaner longer.

Well, I will say Brand means nothing when it comes to catch cans. You want easy draining, visible level check. Thats really the only rewuirements for a real good one. I got mine cheap which is why I got it.....otherwise I was going to get the no namer myself.

whitecavy, i just stumbled upon this one that was in its final minutes of the aution & lucked out.

Luis: Where'd you get that manifold on your 2200 from? Is reminds me of the TBI intake that was used before the LN2 got multi-point, but there's no way that would match-up to the 2200 years head. So, where'd ya get it?

are you talking about exhaust or intake? I have a header but my intake is factory, im not really sure what your talking about though.

The intake... And if that is factory, it's a surprise to me. Of course, I have the same engine in a truck, so that must be a different one used for the car apps.

yes, the intake design on the 2200 is different between the cars and trucks.

Re: oil catch can

Hmmm... I wonder how long the runners on the car version of the intake are compared to the truck version? Oh wait, I just remembered that because the accessory placement on the car is greatly different from the trucks with this engine there's no way they can be swapped. Sorry.

I've never seen or heard of this done on any of the trucks on the other forum I subscribe to. Probably because there really isn't any need for or gain from it.

That does seem to be the verdict.....it is usually done for bagged applications for clearance only....plus a few higher RPM ponies, where the S-10 gives a few ft-# down low....nothing noticable either way though....

Re: oil catch can

That's just my point: I really don't see any need for it. I've seen the way the suspension and the clearance around it is on a dime, and even if it's bagged I don't see how it's necessary to swap manifolds for the sake of even a full drop.
