Got the chance to get to the track last weekend to run the car with the new slicks. Things didn't really go as planned, first run out was a 12.9 and the best run all weekend was a 12.44 @ 117

Went back through all the logs and it turns out that I was only making 8psi up to 5500rpm and spiking to 14 by 6500 when I shifted. Got the car home and tore the turbo apart and I am missing chunks of the exhaust fins, the seal on the compressor side is leaking and there are copper shavings in the drain line.

When I put the car together this year it was a big rush and one of the things I didn't do was check the cross over pipe for any slag after I welded on the v-band flanges. About two months ago now a peice broke free and took out a small peice of each fin, since I was going to a show the next weekend I said @!#$ it and ran it like that. I knew it was going to happen just not that quick.
On a good note though I did get to try out the new slicks and I must say I like them.

They didn't put down compound all weekend which kind of sucked but what can you do when most cars are on street tires. The center section of the turbo is on it's way to Precision now to be rebuilt and I am hopeing to have it back next week. While it's away I am taking this time to move the PCM and fuse block inside the car to give room for a catch can and proper PCV setup along with an AEM meth kit. If everything goes well I should be back up and running in a few weeks...when it's back together I am going to being pushing it up to 600+whp
I got a good pic and one video of the car from the weekend....

Wow, looks so pissed.
Sorry about the luck though.
I want to see the potential unleashed!!!
Yeah, slag in the exhaust pipes is deadly to a turbo if it's upstream. Hence why they never made turbos with a ceramic turbine wheel (To lighten it for quicker spooling), though they did try. And shouldn't that be: "600hp to the rear-wheels!"...?
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Wow the car looks sick with those drag's on it. They really do stick out there. Too bad things did not work out for you.
Mad props to Andy for running his car the way it sits with street tires and all.

FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
You need to get it faster then RB. For our J-Body honor man !

Raven your car is godlike, you're going to own that Skyline!
why just a bump in the hood, why not have that front section open? how bout a second hood for the track?
looking sweet...sry to hear bout the turbo but these things do happen and man good luck taking out the skyline
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
I wish you could run a front bumper with those slicks

Sorry to hear about the turbo.

I am planning to get another front bumber to cut out so I can run one at the track, not sure if it is going to happen this year or not as I have other things that have to be done. The hood is also on the list to be redone for the track as well with a cut out for the turbo but again not sure if that is going to happen this year or not. I do want to make a one peice friberglass front end for it but again it's all about money and I'm not sure if it's going to happen this year or not.

Btw, Andy doesn't have Radials for the track to get those times lowered? Id like to see what 370HP runs in the 1/4..

Right now he runs a MT street tire, I want him to run a 24.5x8 slick but he is not up for it yet. With a MPH of 116 he should be mid to low 12's I would think.

My car will be on the road in the spring, just gather parts, my order from Summit went sour since they do not want to send me my order until August so I am going to bite the bullet, spend alittle more $ and get it locally. I should hear the motor growl this fall, not that far off now. Anyway, ya come on by when you get yours running properly

KFLO: Shame on you you for not recognizing the "Mad Max" movie-line reference, as well as my subtle hint that how that much wheel-power would do better if it were at the rear wheels (No serious performance auto builder would even think to design a car that put that much power only to the front-wheels). Perhaps it is you that has taken too many "hits" from the "pipe" to the head in order to "blow" catching that! But then, you never really could grasp the simplicities or the advantages had from making a good fresh-air short-ram air intake system with a well-designed functional forward-facing inlet, could you? Oh well...!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
