I just took apart my block and I didnt realize that the lifters had oil passages only on one side onf them. Now that they are out, I dont know which way the passage faced?
Looking at the engine from the exhaust side, does the passage face towards the driver side or the passenger side?

The lifters should only be able to go in 1 way.
+1. also, if you notice, there is a relief in the lifter that's about 1/2". goes the whole way round the lifter. thats to keep the section of the lifter that has the oil hole is always covered.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
The recess Rich mentioned allows oil to the hole no matter which way it is facing.
