so...on the way home with the gf, and i'm at about 4500-5000rpm (approx.) doing about 80km/h, i give the car alittle more gas going around the bend to speed up to 100km/h and puffff...BLACK SMOKE OUT THE EXHAUST...AND I MEAN ALOT....when i slow down it goes away and even when i get on it a bit its fine.... so all was good for about 20 minutes and i get on the gas again.. as soon as i get on it hard at about 80-100km/h then pufff, black smoke....
so fully built motor .040 over, secret cams, je pistons, h-beam eagle rods, head was done (P&P), +1mm ss valves, sce m.l.s. head gasket, yada yada. and every sensor, seals, waterpump, you name it it's new...M45 supercharger with 2.7" pulley... lightened crank and alt. pulley...that's about all i can think of, off the top of my head....
yes there was oil in the car (mobil 1)...i actually just put a quart in today because it seems to eat one every 3000km's (oil was changed 2 weeks ago)...checked out the head gasket no leaking or anything...i did my plugs a couple weeks ago and the old ones looked good...any idea what it could be? i was thinking rings....i do feel something in the pedal just before it smokes.. like i'm losing compression..if you know what i mean...but a power loss for sure...going to do a compression test tomarrow change the plugs and hope it's something stupid..lol! YA RIGHT
there's about 10k on the motor since being built...and as of now only has the gm reflash
any help is appreciated...

"If you have no clue what's going on... STFU!"
so got some maybe helpful info...was told black smoke would be excess fuel...and it is definately black...so what would cause this?fuel pressure regulator, injectors (were used i would imagine for awhile before me) , fuel pump, rail, filter (about 15000km on it), any other things that way?...also there is no check engine light. boost guage is normal, as is engine temp, engine psi, wideband is rich as usual, volts are normal, could running so rich for the past 4 months have anything to do with it?
any help appreciated...

Black smoke is unburnt fuel, blue smoke is oil, white smoke is coolant.
My 1st guess is that its your tune, something @!#$ up and is dumping alot more fuel in. If it keeps up you will wash the cylinders down and start burning oil.
Not to mention kill the catalytic converter, because they only like to work within a "small" area of A/F-ratio. Too lean or too rich will cause it to slag, and break-up. And for something that's supposed to last 100,000mi (That's when they're supposed to be replaced, believe it or not!) that's a pretty bad thing.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
wow I bet ya that picks up the chicks
I had that same problem with my 96 z a few months ago

How rich? Your wideband reading doesn't change or isn't different than it would be normally when it didn't pump black smoke out? What's your AFRs?

@turboalero
check ignition components other that plugs, might now be getting enough spark, check the cheap stuff first
it was bad o2 sensor in the header...probably like that when i bought it a couple months ago, which explains everything

and then some...it was actually running rich as hell trying to compensate for going lean and wasn't throwing any codes because of the bad sensor....by the way all it took to figure out.. was to hook my wideband up, and connect to hp tuners...I duhhh.
