TTR mounts...
Friday, July 18, 2008 2:06 PM
well just got my TTR upper mount and lower mount installed on my cavalier (LD9). for people who have had these mounts installed on their car experience shaking of the dash and interior? if so whats up? is it that the mounts are still brand new and the bushings need to be broken in? dont get my wrong, i love these mounts. no engine roll what-so-ever and it seems to pull a little harder then before.

thanks,
CavRacing01

the mounts are a lot stiffer, so the engine vibrations arent absorbed into them and instead transfer to the rest of the car. the dark side of no engine roll lol

thats whats meant to happen. thats how you get the better transfer of power, the engine is nice and solid now so every bit of it can be put through the wheels that much faster.

At stoplights just throw it into neutral, that works for me.

thanks Aaron..... hmmmm if at all possible how could i make my idol 1000rpms instead of 500rpms? i was just messin around seeing where the vibs stopped and it stopped at about 1k. i dont know if this would be the best thing for the engine but it isnt much higher then stock idle..... although im still gonna give it a 1000 mile wait. hmmm, hey Aaron.... got any of those 4 speed auto tranny mounts in stock??? when my next paycheck comes i might snatch up one

^^^^ well if you cant bare the vibes now adding another mount is only going to make them worse.

you can raise the idle using a tuning hardware/software devise for our cars called hp tuners.

Well you might be getting extra vibrations because your auto. Aouto naturally vibrate alot so when you stiffen up something that helps absorb some of the vibration it transfers. And trust if it bothers you know with just the wotor mounts you won't want the tranny mount. My buddies car shakes worse than mine with TTR upper and lower and Prothane tranny bushings. Then again I'm 5 speed.

I got TTR poly mount installed in my 01 cavalier 4 spd auto for 2 years now, I get minor vibes, Only thing that viberates is the glove box rattles. Thats seems to be a common thing with out the mounts installed. I am glad to have my TTR mounts they are great.
