cold air intake for a 4cyl 2.0 sunbird ideas??

im looking for ideas and how to's for a CAI, or RAI for my 2.0 ohc, 91 sunbird, IK, that v6z24 has one but no pics, and barely any info, so i turn to the ORG. whos never let me down

Have you checked the Spectre Performance DIY intake kits at Auto Zone? They offer a bunch of different lengths, bends, etc. of tubing, then get a filter and you're done.

ya, i forgot to mention, i had one be4, and it over revv'd id have to let off the gas to have it shift into the nxt gear (btw its auto)....so i really should have asked why is that occuring, and i thought since i had my headgasket done recently id give it a shot and see if there was a diff.

I draw air from the RH fender in front of the tire. The turbo cars have a canister air breather similar to the Z24 but sealed. I removed the bottom of mine, installed a rubber "flapper" which stays closed during mild use but opens and allows cool air into the canister when airflow needs increase. HTH

Search here about FAI (Fresh-Air Intake) & Ram-Air! Read all you find fully. There were doubters about such a system being worth the effort but they have a chancge of tune now (Heh, heh, heh).


Go beyond the "bolt-on".
