i have a 95 2.2, and i am going to run the garrett 50trim turbo, i am shooting for 10-15 lbs of boost and was wondering how you determine your needed fuel pressure, my stock pump flows at 47-51 psi and i have a walbro in-line that will boost to 60psi. so how do i determine where the fuel pressure will need to be 1. when sizing my injectors to use and 2. to tune it correctly?
thanks
jason
you want to size the injectors to allow the proper fueling @ the standard pressure (or stock pressure), for RC engineering injectors that would be 47psi. What you need to do is ball-park the HP you'll put down and get 1-2 sizes larger than minimum required. ie: if you say 350 HP your looking at maxing out 550cc(off the top of my head, could be wrong) injectors so I'd go with 770cc RC's and you should be good to go. You only need to start boosting injector pressure above 47psi(above manifold pressure) if you are maxing out your injectors at the current pressure, ie: you can make 550's act like 650's by boosting pressure but you could sacrifice injector life at some point.
